After
contacting us with your interest, we will then set up
a date and time for a site test. A site test involves one of our personnel
to visit your home or place of business and test for
signal. Remember, our system is based upon line of site.
Meaning you need a fairly clear line of site to one
of our access points before we even consider about installing
you into our system.
Imagine
you were pointing a laser beam at one of our access
points. If the laser point can reach the access point,
your location should be OK for wireless internet. If
there are things like hills, trees, buildings, or other
physical objects disrupting the laser, it will make
it more difficult.
If
you have a television tower or any other towers on your
property, please let us know. If you have a tower for
your television antenna, it could means you are somewhat
surrounded by trees and/or are located in a low elevation.
Site
tests usually last between 5-15 minutes. We observe
your location and first determine the best access point
from your location. We
will then observe your roof structure and determine
prospective mounting locations. The mounting location
is also determined by the location of your computer
or networking closet inside the building.
We do not
want to run cabling all over your home or business place.
We will try to keep the cable distance as short as possible.
How
much does a site test cost?
NOTHING!! Its free!!
We want you to see actual internet connection speeds
at your location before you make any commitments. We
want to make sure you know we aren't kidding when we
say 'high-speed' internet!!
If
you would like to set up a site test, please call
824-2515.
Along with your name and address, please tell us information
on your geographical location, such as hills and trees
in your immediate vicinity. Also, if you have any sort
of television tower or other tower, please mention it.
